Gold Price Today: The prices of gold have been continuously setting records this year. On Tuesday (April 22), the gold futures prices in the international market surged to a new high of $3,500.80. In the domestic market, gold futures also reached an all-time high of ₹99,178. Silver futures have also been witnessing an upward trend in both markets.
Gold: Surpasses ₹99,000 and Sets New Record
Gold futures started with an upward trend today. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the benchmark June contract for gold opened at ₹98,753, up by ₹1,474 from the previous closing price of ₹97,279. As of the time of writing, the contract was trading at ₹99,068, reflecting a rise of ₹1,789. It touched a day’s high of ₹99,178 and a low of ₹98,551. The gold futures price reached its highest level at ₹99,178 during the day.
Silver: Prices Rise as Well
Silver futures also saw a strong start. On MCX, the benchmark May contract for silver opened at ₹95,793, rising by ₹546 from the previous closing price of ₹95,247. As of the time of writing, this contract was trading at ₹95,775, up by ₹528. It touched a day’s high of ₹95,793 and a low of ₹95,361. This year, silver futures had previously touched an all-time high of ₹1,01,999 per kilogram.
International Market: Gold Hits All-Time High
The international market also saw gold and silver futures open with a rise today. On Comex, gold opened at $3,435.10 per ounce, compared to the previous closing price of $3,425.30. As of the time of writing, gold was trading at $3,495.30, reflecting a gain of $70.10. The gold futures price reached an all-time high of $3,500.80 per ounce today. Meanwhile, silver futures on Comex opened at $32.64 per ounce, up from the previous closing price of $32.52. As of now, silver is trading at $32.55 per ounce, reflecting a minor increase of $0.03.
